Helen has tried cases throughout Louisiana, in both state and federal court, district and appellate courts. She is rated “Best Lawyers in America” in product liability litigation, with a focus on medical devices and implants and asbestos exposure. Helen played a vital litigation role in the national tobacco litigation for the State of Louisiana in the state tobacco class action for medical monitoring, in the Vioxx class action, and in multiparty litigation against the Archdiocese of New Orleans for sex molestation.

Helen has been voted New Orleans Magazine’s “Best Lawyer in New Orleans” (2011-2022) by peer attorneys. In 2019, she was elected president of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA’s mission is to preserve and protect the jury trial system. ABOTA’s membership is limited to seasoned trial attorneys who have tried to verdict as lead counsel a requisite number of jury trials. She is also selected as Louisiana Super Lawyer & The Best Lawyer in Louisiana for 2024.

Helen graduated from Tulane University, cum laude, with a BA in English in 1982 and Tulane Law School in 1993 with J.D. and a Certificate in Environmental Law. She interned at the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic.

Helen’s civic activities include serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the Louisiana Chapter of the Sierra Club (Delta Chapter). She is a lifetime certified Spinning instructor and former avid mountaineer who has summited many of the highest and most difficult peaks in the United States.

Helen’s professional affiliations include the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, and Federal Fifth Circuit Association.
